Jim Mitchell Appointed Lead Class Counsel in TXU Derivative Lawsuit
In May of 2007, Jim was appointed by a Dallas County district judge as one of the lead counsel for a derivative class action lawsuit filed on behalf of the shareholders of TXU regarding its sale. Dozens of lawyers from across the country sought the designation of lead counsel which was ultimately awarded to Jim and his co-counsel, Mike Donovan from Philadelphia. This was the largest class action lawsuit ever filed in the State of Texas. The case was ultimately resolved by Jim and his co-counsel.
