Jose I. Sanchez was born in Mexico City, Mexico and came to Texas in 1981, as an undocumented immigrant. He was raised in Longview, Texas. Jose attended Spring Hill ISD, TX, from kindergarten till graduation in 1994, where he finished as the class Salutatorian. Jose then attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, on an academic scholarship and received his B.A. in 1998. While at Texas A&M, he was the President of the Latino students. After graduating from college, Jose attended Texas Tech Law School in Lubbock, Texas. He received his J.D. in 2001. In May, 2014, he graduated from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government with a Masters in Public Administration.
In preparation for being a successful personal injury attorney, Jose worked for the prestigious East Texas personal injury law firm Wellborn & Houston in Henderson, Texas. Along the years he has served as the voice of the Latino community in East Texas in representing them in all types of personal injuries. From settling million-dollar construction site deaths and injuries, to collecting money from county jails for inmates that have died, Jose is always on the side of the injured.
Jose has always made himself available to the community by doing pro bono cases and serving on local boards. He has served on the Gregg County Boys & Girls Club board; was a member of the group that founded the Spring Hill Education Foundation; founder of LULAC Counsel in Gregg County; Chair of the annual Longview Cinco de Mayo Event for numerous years. For 8 years, Jose has had his Spanish weekly radio show called “La Ley Con Jose” “The Law With Jose”. Through this radio show he is able to educate the community on legal issues as well as have the community call in with questions.
